Currently competing at the Training level, this sweet gelding is honest, kind, and straightforward. Slightly more ‘woah’ than go, Thomas will be a great match for a more timid rider, and will happily step up to the plate for someone wanting to be ultra competitive. Offered in the low-mid five figures, price will increase with additional show experience. Thomas very much enjoys jumping but would be just as happy being a Dressage horse for his future partner.
‘Thomas’ as he is known in the barn, is reliable and consistent both on and off property. He stands great in the cross ties and for the farrier, happily loads on and off of the trailer, and will happily stand tied at a show with a bag of his favorite hay. Thomas requires very little prep at shows, just tack up and hop on for quick 20 minute warm up and you are ready to compete. He is very brave cross country with out being quick, strong, or pulling at the fences. Good to ditches, banks, water, and all types of fence construction. He has been schooling 3’6″+ at home and just completed his first Training around a large track at the Blue Ridge Horse Trials with just cross country time (due to rider navigational error) added to his flat score of 30.9.
Thomas is also great to hack around the property with friends or alone. He is currently on individual turn out, but does well with friends too. Has great feet and solid bone.
